Six ways to get Indonesian news into a program.
Coverage is not the hard part — every option below sees Indonesian outlets. The hard part is whether a program that runs without a human can complete the purchase at all: open an account, hold a card, store a key, accept a monthly minimum. That is what this page compares.
Structural facts checked 1 November 2026. Plans and prices change — verify on each provider's site before you buy.

The column that matters agent buys alone
A key on a dashboard is fine when a human is sitting in front of it. It fails the moment the buyer is a process: no form to fill, no card to enter, no email to confirm. Four of the six options above need a human in the loop before the first request. A fifth is free but stops being an API the moment you need a cursor, a count or a score.
Here the purchase is the request itself: the first call returns HTTP 402 with the price and the address, the agent settles in USDC and retries the identical URL with the payment signature. No account is created, so there is nothing to revoke and no key to leak.
What each call returns USDC, per call
| Endpoint | Returns | Price |
|---|---|---|
/headlines?topic= | Up to 25 headlines for one beat, with source, link and time | $0.05 |
/feed?topic=&since= | Only articles newer than your cursor, plus the next cursor | $0.05 |
/sentiment?topic= | One 0-100 index, drivers and entity bias for a beat | $0.05 |
/search?q= | Up to 25 matching articles across Indonesian outlets | $0.10 |
/briefing?topic= | Deduplicated briefing with keyword trends and top sources | $0.50 |
/monitor?q= | Clipping-style coverage: counts, sources, timeline | $1.00 |
/digest | All eight beats in one call | $2.50 |
/fx?to= | Reference rate for any currency pair (USD/IDR default) plus a daily series and change % | $0.05 |
/crypto?symbols= | Crypto prices in rupiah from Indodax, with bid/ask and volume | $0.05 |
/premium?symbols= | Indonesia crypto premium: Indodax IDR vs global USD × USD/IDR, in percent | $0.05 |
/quake?limit= | Latest BMKG earthquakes: magnitude, depth, tsunami potential | $0.05 |
/holidays?year= | Indonesian public holidays, with days-away counts | $0.05 |
/indonesia?topic= | Everything in one call: USD/IDR, crypto in rupiah, quakes, holidays, top headlines | $0.05 |
/report/buy?q= | Written 30-day coverage report, HTML and JSON | $49 |
Every text endpoint also accepts &lang=en for English-language coverage of Indonesia (ANTARA English, Tempo English, Jakarta Post, FT/SCMP). The default is lang=id, Bahasa Indonesia. Sentiment is computed with an Indonesian lexicon, so lang=en items omit the score rather than return a meaningless neutral.
When a subscription still wins
Be honest about the trade: per-call pricing is worse for very high volume, and useless to an organisation that cannot hold USDC or sign a wallet transaction. If you run hundreds of thousands of calls a month, need a procurement contract and an SLA, or want the bill in rupiah on an invoice, the licences and the invoiced path on the volume page exist for exactly that.
The cheap sanity check is the free preview: three headlines, no key, no payment, no account. If the data shape is wrong for your use case, no price fixes that.
Questions people actually ask
Can an agent buy Indonesian news without a signup or an API key?
Yes. Indo News API has no account and no key: the first call is answered with HTTP 402 carrying the price and address, the agent pays USDC on Base, Polygon, Arbitrum or Avalanche, and retries the same URL with the payment signature. The other providers compared here require an account and a key before the first request.
Is there a free way to test the data first?
Yes. /preview?topic=finance returns three headlines, and the MCP server at /mcp exposes seven free tools — headline preview, new-since cursor, trending entities, keyword search preview, a live Indonesia data sample, endpoint catalog and a report quote — with no key and no payment.
What is the source of the articles?
The Google News Indonesia edition, cached for five minutes, deduplicated across topics, with each item linking to the original publisher. Entities and a deterministic 0-100 sentiment score are computed from the headline and summary, so the same input always produces the same number.
How is this different from Google News RSS?
RSS is free and keyless, which is why it is the right prototype tool. It has no price, no rate agreement, no deduplication across topics, no entity or sentiment fields and no stable cursor for polling. This API adds those four things and a per-call price, which is what a production agent needs.
When is a subscription the better buy?
When you run hundreds of thousands of calls a month, need a signed contract and an SLA, or cannot hold USDC at all. The 30-day licences (1,000 or 10,000 calls) bridge that gap; for larger volume there is an invoice path on /b2b.
Are the other providers' prices listed here?
No. Their plans change faster than a comparison table stays true, so this page only lists structural facts — signup, key, payment rail, per-call availability, MCP support — checked 1 November 2026. Check their sites for current prices.
